Trump and the myth of voter fraud

President Trump is poised to order an investigation into alleged voter fraud in an attempt to back up his claim that he lost the popular vote only because 3 to 5 million undocumented immigrants voted illegally.
All we can say is, good luck with that.
The research shows that voter fraud is exceedingly rare. Of course, that hasn’t stopped conservatives in many states from promoting the myth of widespread fraud in order to enact voter suppression measures targeting minority voters who tend to vote for their opponents.
But we welcome Trump’s effort to take one last look – if for no other reason than to demonstrate that his claims are completely false and to put this fantasy to rest.
