"Baby Nazi" skinhead admits killing 75-year-old woman
Prosecutors are expected to ask for a life sentence without parole for a 26-year-old neo-Nazi skinhead who pleaded guilty this week in Las Vegas to killing a 75-year-old woman.
Bayle Morgan pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the pistol-whipping and shooting death in May 2013 of Jean Main in her home in northwest Las Vegas.
Investigators said the armed killer broke into Main鈥檚 home while she was alone, hitting her on the head with such force that his handgun鈥檚 trigger guard broke into pieces. He then shot her in the back of the head.
When he was arrested a short time later, police said they recovered a laptop computer, a purse containing $800 and the keys to the victim鈥檚 Cadillac Escalade.
Morgan also pleaded guilty to state charges of conspiracy, burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon.
He initially faced the death penalty, but prosecutors took that off the table in exchange for his guilty plea. They are, however, expected to ask a judge to send Morgan to prison for life without the possibility of parole when he鈥檚 sentenced in June, the reported.
A jury last year convicted Morgan of an unrelated robbery that occurred just a few days after the homicide. During that trial, the judge ordered the defendant鈥檚 racist tattoos on his face, skull and neck covered with makeup so not to prejudice jurors.
His racist tattoos and the makeup effort to cover them up attracted international attention, the newspaper reported.
Two white supremacist tattoos replace his eyebrows. A swastika inside a clover is under his left eye and 鈥淢ost Wanted鈥 is tattooed on his forehead. The large tattoo on his neck says, 鈥淏aby Nazi.鈥
Authorities haven鈥檛 disclosed what, if any, racist group Morgan was aligned with, while there are reports he got the tattoos while in prison. He was sent there when he was 18 on a car theft conviction.
