Four black sharecroppers, Roger Malcolm, his wife Dorothy Dorsey Malcom, George Dorsey and Mae Murray Dorsey, were led off into the woods near the Moore’s Ford Bridge on the Walton-Oconee county line on July 25, 1946. A white mob shot the four. No one was ever charged with the killings when the case was officially closed January 29, 2018.
