About 100 racist skinheads from California and Nevada gathered at the Federal Building in Los Angeles' Westwood neighborhood for a “Free the Order” rally to support imprisoned members of the The Order, also known as the Silent Brotherhood or Bruders Schweigen. The Order was a terrorist white supremacist group responsible for $4.1 million in armored car heists and the murder of a Jewish talk show host in Denver in the early 1980s. Its leader, Bob Mathews, died in a shootout with the FBI in 1984, and most surviving members of the group were sent to prison on a variety of charges. The December rally was organized by longtime white supremacist David Lynch and the Golden State Skinheads. Four members of the Berdoo Skins were identified and arrested at the rally after allegedly participating in a mob attack on two black men the night before in Claremont, Calif. One of the victims had to be airlifted to a hospital for treatment of multiple stab wounds.
