Twyla Williams
Twyla Williams is the °Ä²Ê¿ª½±â€™s chief human resources officer. Her responsibilities include talent recruitment and retention, labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, human resources policies and other programs. These responsibilities span the breadth of the °Ä²Ê¿ª½±, which has offices across the Deep South and in Washington, D.C.
An experienced human resources professional, Williams has a passion for people and is committed to helping cultivate an environment of inclusiveness and excellence at the °Ä²Ê¿ª½±.
She began her human resources career in 2002 as an HR assistant at Saks Inc. She held the full-time position at the department store’s corporate office while balancing a full college course load, including evening classes.
After graduation, Williams served as a recruiter with Aerotek, a staffing and recruitment agency. She was responsible for filling more than 650 production jobs for Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of Alabama. She was promoted to account manager where she led a recruitment team, but also continued to work directly with many organizations with staffing needs in Montgomery, Alabama, and surrounding areas.
Williams later worked at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) as an employee relations specialist. She ultimately served as AUM’s human resources officer where she handled all employee relations matters and oversaw recruitment. During her tenure at AUM, Williams received her Title IX certification through the Association of Title IX Administrators. The certification is a key credential for HR professionals dedicated to ensuring compliance with Title IX, the 1972 federal law barring sex discrimination in educational institutions.
Williams received a Bachelor of Science degree in management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She holds a Professional in Human Resources certification through the HR Certification Institute. She is also a Society of Human Resource Management-Certified Professional. Williams is a board member of Easterseals of Central Alabama. She also serves as the chair of its personnel committee.
