David Dinielli
David Dinielli joined the IJʿ after a long career with the Los Angeles law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson, LLP, where he specialized in complex litigation and played leading roles in important LGBT rights cases. These cases include the California Supreme Court challenge to Proposition 8 and the defense of legislation prohibiting the practice of gay-to-straight “conversion therapy” on minors in California. Dinielli served as a special counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust action against the AT&T and T-Mobile merger. He also served as a law clerk to Judge Cynthia Holcomb Hall of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Dinielli earned his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was the managing editor of the Michigan Law Review and elected to Order of the Coif. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College.
